Postulate Three

Awareness As Your Zero-Dimensional Self

Postulate 3: Conscious awareness emanates from a zero-dimensional point - an indivisible center of perception - from which all of space, time, and identity is experienced. This point, dimensionless in both time and space, is aware. Consciousness is the origin and anchor of one's personal universe.

Afterlife Theory uses the evidence of virtual reality software, to compare awareness in life to the camera in a scene. The camera exists at a unary X, Y, Z, T location with space-time. Like the camera, consciousness is not extended in space, but instead functions as a dimensionless point of awareness - operating like the "observer point" or the "camera eye" in virtual reality software.

Consciousness as Your Point of Origin

In the framework of Afterlife Theory, consciousness is not seen as a diffuse field or an emergent byproduct of brain activity. Instead, it is proposed to be something far more fundamental and precise: an emanation from a single, zero-dimensional point - a point of pure awareness without size, shape, or extension, yet capable of perceiving and constructing all spatial and temporal experience. Conscious awareness has no measurable width or mass. It does not change with age or location. It is not seen in a mirror or captured on a scan. It is the one constant: the origin of your universe.

According to this postulate, the self is not spread across the body or embedded in the brain. Nor does it span across time. It is instead a zero-dimensional singularity - a dimensionless origin point from which perception radiates outward into the world. Just as all three-dimensional coordinates can be described in relation to a central point of origin, all subjective experience is referenced back to this internal point of awareness. In this sense, your entire perceived universe is centered on you, not egotistically, but geometrically.

Evident in Out-of-Body and Near-Death Experiences

During OBEs and NDEs, individuals often report a sudden detachment from the body, but not from the self. What remains is a pure center of consciousness, observing from a new vantage point - sometimes floating above the body, other times entering expansive, nonphysical realms. These reports consistently describe awareness as anchored to a moving point that can relocate in space, yet never loses its unity. No matter where consciousness "goes," it always observes from a center, a still point of awareness in motion. This supports the idea that the self is not tied to the body's physical dimensions, but instead projects dimensional experience outward from a central singularity.

Geometrically, a zero-dimensional point has no extension, yet it is the origin of all coordinate systems. Similarly, the conscious self has no measurable form, yet it is the origin of all experienced phenomena. All sensations, thoughts, and memories are "located" in reference to this singularity. This model upends materialist assumptions. It suggests that the body, brain, and environment are secondary structures, constructed in awareness rather than giving rise to it. Consciousness does not emerge from the complex arrangements of matter; matter is rendered as form within the dimensional projection of consciousness.

The Geometry of Consciousness

The Postulate of the Zero-Dimensional Self reframes consciousness as a singular, dimensionless origin of experience. It is from this indivisible point that all space, time, and memory are projected, recorded, and perceived. This model not only accounts for ordinary perception, but also explains altered states, life review phenomena, and the possibility of conscious continuation beyond death.

You are not your body. You are not your brain. You are the point from which reality is rendered. It is the interplay of consciousness and memory that creates the life experience. Envisioning conscousness as a point of awareness, centeral to and surrounded by a space of memory, will take you a long way toward understanding the geometry of afterlife. This same geometric model is how three-dimensional software is built as well.
